What the Tvarka QES Bridge is for

The Tvarka QES Bridge connects the browser to the local USB/eID signing environment. You need it when you want to sign with an ID card or a USB token directly on your computer.

Installers for Windows and macOS are on the downloads page; the full Tvarka Sign application installs the card support alongside it. This is not a key held in the cloud: the PIN is entered locally.

The security logic

Tvarka only prepares the digest to be signed and receives the signing result. The private key stays on the card or the USB token, and the PIN is never sent to Tvarka servers.

The Bridge is what makes the cheaper qualified signing route available when it suits you to work at a computer rather than on a phone.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the Tvarka QES Bridge for Smart-ID?

No. Smart-ID, Mobile-ID and LT ID are remote qualified signing routes. The Bridge is needed for USB and eID scenarios on a computer.

Is the PIN sent to Tvarka?

No. The PIN is used locally, inside the signing means. Tvarka never receives it.

What if the Tvarka QES Bridge is not detected?

Check that the installer package is installed and that the Tvarka extension is enabled in the browser, then restart the browser.
